Veja a espuma se formar na água, ouça o ruído da esponja contra a louça e o som dos copos e pratos se deslocando na pia. Concentre-se no ato físico de limpar o que está sujo. Enxágue. You cannot force life. . . relationships, physical, mental, conversations, love, attention, recovery.
Massive message of this past week . . . often we want things so badly and are impatient to make it happen, but the universe has its way of telling us that we can work hard and do everything we can within our power but we cannot force what we need or want to happen. Sometimes just being aware and seeing the dots start to join, suddenly it has happened and we are delighted! (Story of this week - after 3 years of so wanting @thehughjackman to know about the Stacey Story Documentary we made in 2016 with footage he generously provided after I persued getting it for 3 years - events serendipitously happened to enable him to finally know this week when in Melb & hopefully see it but also for us to thank him)
I see this when people move - stretching for example - if done with a pre-conceived vision of a position & forcing the body towards that vision, the opposite will most likely occur. Copying something without being IN YOUR body will generally not work well or have a positive outcome.
The extreme discomfort you are inflicting to simply create what you ‘think’ the stretch should be, your body will do the opposite, tighten and protect itself.
By understanding how to set yourself up for the stretch in YOUR body, tuning into how it ‘feels’, then inhaling deeply first and with the exhale allowing the release to happen in both mind and body PLUS tuning into how that ‘feels’ for you. You will enable a beautiful releasing stretch & the letting go will occur mentally and physically.
I am passionate about self acceptance, you are enough, not forcing life, finding your tribe and never change to fit in, being YOU.
Choose to tune in to yourself and finding flow & connection today. Move with mindfulness and own your space in the world.
Today let’s think pink and act like Flamingos! Standing tall I bend one leg and hold onto my knee. Like a flamingo I balance, just as stable as can be. With my eyes focused straight ahead I have tremendous poise. I hold my stance silently, never making a noise. First I balance on one side, then switch and give the other a try. P.s. one of my most fav rituals for calming my mind and getting back to the present moment (instead of the past or the future where overwhelm tends to live) is a body scan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we feel stressed, it’s common to carry tension in the body. Doing a body scan helps me notice what I’m feeling and where, and relieve stress.
Here’s how I do it:
1️⃣ Close your eyes and sit (or lay) in a comfortable position.
2️⃣ Starting with your head, notice where any tension lives. Are the eyes sore? Is your head achy? Are your shoulders stiff? Is your jaw tight? Notice the sensations without judgement and breathe into and relax the tense spots. Visualize that you’re blowing the tension out through a straw. Take a deep exhale if you need to.
3️⃣ Once you feel ready and more relaxed, move slowly down to each area of your body, group by group: chest, arms, stomach, sacral, legs, feet, etc. Notice sensations, breathe into tension, and release by blowing through the invisible straw or taking a deep exhale.
4️⃣ Massage any areas that want extra care, and remind yourself that “I am safe” and “I can handle this.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ When complete, slowly wiggle your fingers and toes and open your eyes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tip: When you’re short for time, notice and breathe into the specific spot where you feel tension in the body, instead of moving group by group.
