Newsflash: this weekend I passed a rigorous assessment to be accepted by my professional body as a Registered Nutritionist (#RNutr) 
It’s a rigorous assessment including 100 page portfolio of my work over the last 13 years, various competency tests to prove my scientific capabilities & references from employers and clients. I was only able to submit it because I have a MSc specialising in nutrition-related diseases and other academic qualifications in nutrition science.

So, as you can see, if you choose to work with a RNutr you can be confident you are working with someone who is really well qualified. Oh, and we are really few and far between. Just 6 of us in West Yorkshire.

Almond Maple Chicken with Summer Salsa☀️ Makes 2 Servings: 
1 Lean, 3 greens, 3 Condiments, 1 Healthy fat, 1 snack

Chicken Ingredients:
18 oz raw chicken breasts - should yield 12 oz cooked 
1/4 cups sugar free pancake syrup 
1/2 tsp grated fresh lemon rind 
1 tsp lemon juice 
1/4 tsp pepper 
20 almonds, very finely chopped

Chicken Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place chicken in a shallow baking pan and then sprinkle with pepper. Combine pancake syrup, lemon rind, lemon juice, and almonds in a small bowl. Pour mixture over chicken. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. You can broil for the last few minutes to get a darker coating on the chicken.

Summer Salsa Ingredients:
1/2 avocado, roughly chopped 
3 C cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 C pea shoots or alfalfa sprouts, roughly chopped 
4 fresh basil leaves, roughly torn
2 Tbsp lemon juice (the juice of 1/2 lemon)
1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
2 packets splenda
kosher salt, to taste

Summer Salsa Instructions: 
Begin by making your salsa. Combine the lemon juice, the whole grain mustard, and the splenda in a small bowl, and whisk to combine. In a larger mixing bowl, stir the avocado, tomatoes and basil leaves together along with a hefty pinch of kosher salt. Drizzle the dressing atop the salsa, and stir to combine. Set the salsa aside at room temperature while you make the chicken.

Assemble: when chicken is done, plate and top each piece with half of the Summer salsa.

Isometrics are not the end all be all. They are just a tool like everything else. When in a pinch for time, helping tendons it just wanting to do something really tough they have a role. I personally have sounds that they help with my knee. This is one of the best movements I have done for direct quad work really enjoyed it and squeezed it in when at the track. .

According to @uscf there are 61 DIFFERENT names for sugar: sucrose, high-fructose corn syrup, barley malt, dextrose, maltose, agave nectar and 55 others. Is that not BONKERS?! These 61 forms of sugar are in things like ketchup, salad dressings, pasta sauce, frozen pizza, and those aren't even the "sweet" things like energy bars, yogurt, cereal, ice cream, juice, etc. The best way to avoid added sugar (and the many chronic health issues that come with added sugar, not to mention the weight issues) is to avoid most packaged foods.

Only buy something with 5-6 ingredients and make sure that you understand all of them. Try to have sugar (or whatever it’s called) not be one of them and if you're not quite sure because you don't recognize one of the 61 terms for sugar (I mean we get it, how could you know them ALL 🙄), check out the actual nutrition label (and make sure you double the serving size or whatever the full box or bottle is) to get the FULL sugar amount.

You can lose weight without exercising which again shows how important nutrition can be. Of course exercise has so many benefits but that's another topic for another time! I wanted to really hit home just how important what you put into your body really does

✅ Only buy what you NEED - If weight loss is your goal then when you're doing your weekly shop, plan your weekly meals before you go, that way your less likely to pick up stuff you know won't work in your favour!

✅ Don't shop when you're hungry! You will buy everything in sight, spend a fortune and buy all the things you want that at the time, are going to fill you with happiness but in the long run, aren't going to help you at all

. ✅ Stop eating your feelings - Easier said than done but how many times when you were growing up if you were upset, did you get given food to make you feel better? This carries over to adulthood and causes us to eat when we're emotional. This is something that takes time and can be very hard to do but taking up exercise for example can be a very positive and beneficial way to manage those emoitons
. ✅ Invest in a good healthy recipe book - Sit down with your partner or family once a week and all pick out 4 or 5 meals you like the sound of. Write down the ingredients and add them to the shopping list. Save money by buying in bulk and choosing a recipe where leftovers can be used for lunch the next day 🍴 ✅ Eating healthy doesn't have to be boring or restrictive - Eat foods you enjoy! ✅ Make sure you have 1 day a week where you look forward to your favourite treat - having something to look forward to can really keep you going 💪🏻 ✅ Drink water 💦 and lots of it! Aim for 2 litres a day. Some of the time we're slightly dehydrated which can send a message to our brain we're hungry when we aren't 🙄

2. Cut avocados in half remove seed.
3. Stuff avocado with cooked steak and garnish with green onions.

I L O V E to eat! 🥬🍉 I don't count calories. I don't accurately measure things out.
I don't always read nutrition labels. I don't correctly portion size.  I don't always choose "healthy". & yet even with all those "don'ts", I've still found a way to successfully enjoy a #healthierlifestyle!

1. I've lost the weight & kept it off

Mesozyklus beendet. 5 Wochen steigenden Gewichte, sinkende relative Intensitäten und steigendes Volumen haben sich am Ende deutlich bemerkbar gemacht. Nächste Woche geht es in den wohlverdienten Deload. Was genau ein Deload ist, werde ich in den kommenden Posts erklären.

-2-3 days worth of Greek Kale Salad from @cookieandkate for my lunch, I will do a second batch on Wednesday so the kale doesn’t get too wilty. ⁣

-I’ve been making wraps for Sam lately, so the sweet potato, red pepper and mushrooms will be filling for those along with spinach and hummus. We’ll probably also use some of the mushrooms for tacos. ⁣

-Other dinner plans this week include @hilaryseatwell veggie burgers and stir fry (rice and broccoli prepped today). ⁣

Beef Lasagna Recipe:

1 pound ground beef
1 jar marinara sauce 
1 box lasagna pasta
16oz ricotta 
2c mozzarella 
3/4c Parmesan 
3 garlic cloves
2tsp Oregano
1/4c fresh basil, chopped (or 2tsp dried)
1tsp salt
1/2tsp pepper

1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Break up your beef and cook it in a pan on the stove until there is no more pink then add the marinara sauce, basil, salt, pepper, garlic and oregano.
3. Mix together the mozzarella, Parmesan, and ricotta.
4. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, cheese then pasta and repeat.
5. Cook in the oven for 25 minutes covered then 15 uncovered.

My best friends were in town last weekend and I wasn’t about to miss out on sushi, pizza or some drinks with them (ok some ice cream too) 🍣🍕🍻🍦

But I knew the deviation from my regular diet might cause the scale to jump. And it did. Pretty high actually. 😳
⠀⠀
A few years ago this would have destroyed me. I would have assumed I “undid” all my progress. Said f*ck it and continued to eat whatever I wanted until the next time I was motivated.
⠀⠀
✳️That’s actually hard to type because that was my reality for SO LONG. Constantly disappointed in myself.
⠀⠀
Fast forward a few years... ⠀⠀
You know what I did this week?
⠀⠀
Well for starters, I didn’t panic. I ate my normal balanced meals, had some bomb workouts (thank you extra carbs 😜), and drank water!
⠀⠀
That’s it. No extra cardio or extreme dieting. And guess what?!
⠀⠀
The scale is back to normal. I lost my “12 pounds” (aka water retention💧) I gained over last weekend.
⠀⠀
❌There is absolutely no need to restrict yourself from social events revolving food or alcohol.
⠀⠀
Obviously if you over indulge too often, the calories will add up and you’ll start to gain weight. But that’s why it’s so important to learn how to balance.

So enjoy your life! Enjoy those special occasions and memories made, and stop stressing that you’ll ruin all your progress. I promise you, you won’t! ❤️

Chipotle Citrus Chicken. If you watch my stories, this is the Meal I made last Sunday and I said I’d post the recipe if it turned out well. It was awesome so here it is @themealprepmanual⁣

INGREDIENTS⁣
2.5 lbs (1135g) chicken thighs ⁣
1 orange⁣
1 lime ⁣
1 (10g) chipotle pepper in adobo sauce ⁣
3 tbsp (45g) adobo sauce ⁣
1 tbsp (8g)Cumin ⁣
1 tsp (3g) Salt ⁣
1 tsp (2g) Pepper⁣
1 tbsp (8g) Chili powder ⁣
2 tbsp (30mL) Olive oil⁣
2 cups (350g) cooked rice ⁣
1 cup canned black beans ⁣
1 (150g) green pepper ⁣
1 (150g) red pepper ⁣
1 tbsp (15g) garlic ⁣
1/2 medium (100g) onion ⁣
2 medium (500g) zucchini ⁣
⁣
PREP⁣
1. In a large ziplock bag, add the chicken, juice from the lime, juice from the orange, chipotle pepper and adobo sauce, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix together and allow to marinate for 30 minutes. ⁣
2. Start the rice. ⁣
3. While the chicken is marinating, chop your peppers and onion into a small dice. Cut the zucchini into a large dice. ⁣
4. In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until the onion has softened. Add the peppers and cook until soft. ⁣
5. Add in 2 cups of cooked rice, 1 cup of rinsed black beans and season with salt, pepper, and lime juice to taste. ⁣
6. Heat some oil in another pan and sauté the zucchini until soft. ⁣
7. Once the chicken has marinated, heat a grill pan over medium heat and cook the chicken. ⁣
8. Cut the chicken into one inch pieces and return to the pan to get even color.⁣
9. Divide the ingredients evenly between 5 containers. That means it makes 5 servings. ⁣

Overnight Oat Meal Prep Bowls🍓🍌🍊🍒 { So have you tried em' yet?!! Not only do overnight oats save you time in the morning, but they’re also much easier to digest than unsoaked oats.

As the oats soak overnight, their digestibility greatly improves.

Overnight as they soak, the starches break down which improves digestibility and the natural phytic acid (which all plants contain) is greatly reduced that makes them more easily absorbed by your body! .

One final note: I truly PREFER using FROZEN berries, or fruit to make these for several reasons.
EASY! No washing or chopping! Frozen fruit is often more economical as well. And finally, I LOVE the natural juicy syrup the fruit creates as it melts into the oats!}

makes 4-5 servings

Ingredients:
For oatmeal base:
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
2 cups milk of choice, I prefer unsweetened almond, coconut, or cashew 
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup raw honey
4 Tbsps chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon extract

For topping ideas: fresh chopped fruit, or berries of choice. I really love to use frozen fruits and berries to make my oats.
Make them your own. If using bananas, drizzle them with fresh lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
1/2 cup of fruit or berries per serving is what I like to aim for.
Additional Greek yogurt if desired.

Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for the oatmeal base. 
Stir well to completely incorporate, set aside in your fridge.
Meanwhile, prepare the fruit you want to use as toppings.
Divide your oatmeal mixture equally among 4-5 glass meal prep containers, or jars, then top it all up with fresh chopped fruits and a dollop of additional Greek yogurt if desired.
1/2 cup of fruit or berries per serving is what I like to aim for.

Seal and refrigerate overnight for up to five days.
Before serving, give it all a big stir, and enjoy! (and YES they are eaten cold, just like pudding...just try it!) Enjoy!

•rolled oats
•sunflower seeds
•coconut oil
•cinnamon
•nutmeg
•maple syrup

directions:
1. heat nonstick pan to medium-high heat, add in oats
2. keep pushing around the oats, and add in abt a tsp of coconut oil. continue to push the oats arnd for abt 4-5 min, and make sure the oil is evenly dispersed
3. add in sunflower seeds and keep mixing for abt another minute
4. add in cinnamon and a little bit of nutmeg, and make sure the spices are evenly dispersed
5. turn to low heat, and add in maple syrup. make sure the maple syrup is evenly dispersed, and then transfer to another bowl
6. using a spoon, pack together the granola tightly. once it cools, you’ll be able to break it apart to get granola clusters
Steak and eggs with garlicky green beans and roasted potatoes for dinner 🥩 need I not say more? I grilled a thick piece of grass fed New York strip steak medium cooked in my grill pan since its been raining outside and roasted some baby red potatoes 🍠 in my toaster oven. Both were simply seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper. The green beans were sautéed in olive oil with garlic and the eggs 🍳 were cooked in avocado 🥑 oil. The potatoes came out perfectly crisp and the steak was perfectly cooked. I dipped it in some steak sauce. It was all so good. I hope you have a good night.
