@juliana_chauncey "We reached the Barren Ledges after a day of hiking out of Monson, and the sun setting over Lake Onawa made for one of my favorite views on the trail.
With clear skies and a limited number of nights left out here we decided to forgo our tents and lay out our sleeping pads on the rocks instead. If there's one recommendation I can make for 'cowboy camping' under clear skies that I haven't heard yet, it's to download a flight tracking app. Star-gazing levels up when you can see where all the little planes are going, and we had fun guessing where they were headed and checking to see if we were right!"
It's great to get away for the weekend before coming back to civilization. It helps to clear the mind and to take a break from everything.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and greater week ahead.

My kind of "Netflix and chill" 😁 Found myself pretty lucky to have this place almost completely to myself. Ended up laying there for a couple of hours in the sun, eating some snacks and enjoying this incredible view whilst wishing this moment would last forever... #GoproHero7
The term “tropical glaciers” may sound like an oxymoron, but to one-sixth of the world’s population residing in places like South America, Africa and Indonesia, they represent a major water source that is rapidly melting away.
Like polar ice caps, tropical glaciers that are located high in the equatorial mountain ranges are disappearing due to global warming.
Most glaciers in the Andes Mountains of South America, could melt in the next 30 years, threatening millions of people who depend on them for drinking water, electrical power generation and farming.
If they were to disappear we could be facing a massive world crisis... To raise awareness and tell the world about it, I'm joining forces with @cumbresblancascolombia , I will be joining expeditions to Mexico, Colombia, Peru and around the globe to monitor, study, photographs and raise as much awareness as possible regarding this terrible situation... I will first be teaming with Victor Rimac (@victorrimac) for several ascents above 5000m in the Cordillera Blanca at the end of September and early October, then I'll head to the southern mountains of Peru and team up with @monoblancoaventura and Abel Ccallo (@abel.ccallo) where we have a lot more planned.
For the second phase of the expedition, in November I will be in Colombia with the main team of @cumbresblancascolombia to climb Nevado Ruiz.
For the third and last phase I will be in Bolivia, with Oscar (@oscar_saley ) and his team where we have a few more ascents planned!
Stay tuned for more!
On this expedition I will be testing and using Samaya's (@samaya_equipment ) latest innovation, the world lightest 4 seasons 2.5 persons tent!
Thanks a lot to them!
Also as always, thank you to my sponsor @barrabes.ski.mountain who supports me and allows me to keep on exploring!
