I’ve got a different kind of #TransformationTuesday to share, and I hope you’ll hear me out. There’s an epidemic going around of self-hate and we women have GOT to step up to the plate and take responsibility for how WE contribute to the problem.
What’s the first thing we see when our friends post a photo of us? Is it our smile, how happy we look?? Or is it how attractive we are, how skinny we appear, or how our outfit compares? What about when we put a swimsuit on, have you ever done that and not asked yourself, your spouse, or your friends if you look fat? I’m guessing no.
WE NEED TO STOP IT! When I first started losing weight, I saved a photo of myself that I hated and looked at it every day for “inspiration”. I think back about that now and am absolutely disgusted at my actions. I was brainwashing my mind into hating my own self-image! I bet you can ask any person out there who has done something similar and they’ll tell you that even after they hit their goal weight, they still felt… not enough.
While striving to be healthy is one thing, we have GOT to take control of how we view ourselves before we point the finger at other people. Stop filling your life and head with negativity, YOU are the only person who can change that. So… here are my promises to myself, and I hope you’ll consider making some of your own. These are 100% real habits and real insecurities that I face, and I’m done with them all:
1 🙅🏻♀️ I refuse to look at my stomach and think about the 6-pack I don’t have every… single… time I see a mirror.
2 🙅🏻♀️ I'll no longer make putting make-up on a necessity.
3 🙅🏻♀️ I’m going to stop wearing long pants 24/7 because I don’t like the way my thighs look.
4 🙅🏻♀️ I’m going to wear my sports bra when I damn well feel like it and STOP telling myself that people or judging me.
5 🙅🏻♀️ When I’m in a swimsuit I will ask NO ONE, including myself, if I look fat. Instead I will soak up the goddamn sunshine and enjoy the life I’ve been given exactly as it is.
We are all worthy human beings. "...and if I asked you to name all things that you love, how long would it take for you to name yourself?"
🌵Tiger🌵 -Work in #progress ! I really like this drawing and I hope to finish it soon!🐯 -I completely love #tigers , they are beautiful and so important! We must learn to respect and to protect this amazing creatures. -Do you like tigers?🐅

I just want my arms to look big in a T-shirt 🤷🏽♀️ this training block incorporates bench singles with weight releasers, which overloads the eccentric. Basically you feel like you’re about to be crushed then the extra weight comes off at the bottom. Here I have 135 on the bar and 15lbs on each side

Okay now that I have your attention.
Pls tell me you’ve seen Never Ending Story.
If you haven’t - watch it - in order to get the #StrangerThings reference.
Literally my favourite moment of the series 😂!
In other news.
If you have gotten this far...
I wanted to touch on progress.
How do you measure progress?
Is it empowering for you? Or does it bring you down?
These are both questions that we need to ask ourselves when we are trying to track any progression.
Progress can be measured in SOOO many ways!
I generally ask my clients a series of questions so we can accurately form a well rounded conclusion.
1) How clothes fit
2) Energy levels
6) Strength - weights going up
7) Endurance - ability to perform workouts quicker or more efficiently
& a few more.
You may be wondering.. why isn’t the scale included?
Here is my thought process on this..
While YES the scale is an incredible tool that / should be used in some instances..
I have found the majority of my clients that I have worked with will neglect every single other progression tool .. IF THE SCALE HASN’T MOVED.
It can create a revolving door of inability to take into account other progress.
Yes the scale can be used.
Yes it can track progress.
But yes.. it can also become an obsessive and unnecessary tool.
If you’re sessions progress in every aspect of your life.. should the scale matter??!!
If you think objectively .. probably not!💡💡
Your body is so much more than its gravitational pull towards the earth.
So so much more.
Next time you feel disappointed that the scale hasn’t moved .. ask yourself what other changes your body has made 🥰💓
I guarantee you will appreciate how much it has improved!
We love seeing our patients smashing their weight loss goals! Congratulations on your progress @tahneelou92

So when I first brought Felix home CitCat was not happy at all. She hissed and hid for about a week.
I had them separated for 4 days then I opened the door for CitCat to come out if she wanted. When she would watch him carefully from her room, I would give her a treat. When she came into the living room, I would give her a treat. I rewarded the behavior I wanted to see. When he would get too close and she would hiss and run away, I would give her her space and close the door for a minute so she could calm down. And I did that for about 3 days.
The second week, she would come out, but every now and then she would hiss and run away from him. Felix is a kitten so all he can think about is playing and he doesn’t understand sometimes he is too aggressive.
I have had him now for almost a month and the progress we made is just astounding! CitCat still doesn’t like to be too close, cause Felix has absolutely no chill lol.
This was yesterday morning, I woke up to cuddles from both of my babies and I was so happy. And then today, she was running around the house with him for about half an hour. She was playing with him. It was cute. She didn’t hiss and run away from him, she was playing and chasing him! It made me so happy.
I was afraid that it wasn’t going to work out, or that it was gonna be a long long time before she would feel comfortable with him. I am so proud of her. When I got her she wasn’t very social, and she has changed so much. Pretty soon, they’ll be best friends tag teaming to get food and run out the door! 😹😹

I can proudly say I reached my weight goal but it doesn't stop there, being healthy and fit is a lifestyle, its a commitment and a long one! One you must always keep, because if you slip up and go back to doing your same old routine that made you that way in the first place you will never make progress.
Fake it until you make it.
Let me tell you all about all that went WRONG with this run.
I woke up late.
That led it to being hotter.
Which meant a needed a shady spot to run.
And of course, that means I had to drive to a spot.
So, less time to get in a run.
Once I finally got started and got in a groove, my daughter texted me 10x and then there was the hot military guys asking me to take their picture....they thought my run was a walk🤣!
Not ideal circumstances.
But, let me tell you what went RIGHT!
Despite getting up late, I got dressed for a run.
Regardless of the amount of time I had, I made a 5k run happen.
Was it the 4.5 I planned?
Was it nice and easy?
Did I make it happen against the odds?
The shitty days will happen.
The opportunities will not always be perfect.
Do it anyways.
Make yourself proud.
That's what matters in the end.

Almost forgot it was Tuesday 🤷🏼♀️
“Life was easier when I was thinner” - or so ED would have me believe 😏 ED tells me to think back when I could slide so easily into my smallest pair of jeans, to when I could exercise twice daily doing HIIT routines every time, to when I would eat ALL the chips and dip on the weekends because I had been “good” all week! And these are things I was “able” to do when I was thinner - but were they better than how I love now?!?! 🤨🙅🏼♀️
The TRUTH? Life was not easier when I was thinner and smaller. Those jeans I could slide into - it’s because I had lost all the muscle from my legs because I never fueled my body and it had to find fuel somewhere. Exercising twice daily - caused severe damage to my heat, cause said muscle loss, and exhausted my body to the point where I couldn’t exercise at all for a period of time. And binding on chips and dip - who needs that when I can eat them freely any time I want in the amount that makes my body feel good?! 🙌🏼
It’s so easy to believ ED’s lies when I first hear them, but when I take time to think back and reflect on what my life was ACTUALLY like when I was thinner due to ED, I realize that in no way was this the “better” life or more fulfilling life. I am LOVING life these days because I’m truly able to LIVE it! and if it took a few extra pounds and some personal reflection to get here..I’m totally okay with that! 🤗👍🏻💗

Always take pictures of your progress because looking back makes all the hard work worth it! I’m not trying to make this most about weight loss because it’s so much more than that, it’s about a journey that I went through mentally. It takes a lot to set yourself a goal and actually go through with it, my goal was to be healthy and happy and not just happy with the number on the scales but to be truly soul deep happy. Since introducing exercise into my life I’ve experienced so many benefits and my mood has sky rocketed. I used to suffer from really bad anxiety in high school and it’s not something I’ve really talked about on here much. My lifestyle went from being a very sporty pre teen and then just stopping exercise all together I would eat a huge amount of food to distract me from my feelings (well I still actually eat a lot of food, but all in proportion ofc) I got to a point where I had been like that for a few years. I always wondered why I was so insecure and not confident but it’s because my mind was unhealthy. I’m so proud of myself for being mentally strong enough to carry out a goal and stick with it, it’s something I haven’t been the best at throughout my life but I think I’ve done a good job at this one 🥰
