Yesterday I had a hard, humbling run. Today it was a bit better. The journey is never linear, heck sometimes the week doesn't even feel linear, but we push, learn and persevere during the tough times and we come out on the other side a little wiser and stronger.
It’s maybe been a month since I’ve been to a Zumba class, so when I was able to get out of work a little early and make it to a Monday class, I took that opportunity!
I’ve been motivated to run every day, thanks to the #RWrunstreak, but I’ve struggled to put on the miles. I think getting back into the Zumba routine — and starting to see fitness and weight-loss progress — will help it all come together!
I was really looking forward to the run today. Then the time to run came, and my legs just wouldn’t cooperate. I was really mad. At myself, my legs, everything. Just one of those days, and that’s ok cause I finished the run. 🏃♀️
This was a fun one, got through 2 full rounds + another 400m run and 7 sit-ups. Box jumps slowed me down. Because I don’t want my Achilles to explode or knees to buckle, I don’t do rebounds. So...I plunk away a jump at a time. #crossfit#boxjumps#running
The calf strain made the 1st mile on the muddy trails pretty challenging, but after jumping on the gravel around Squircle, it loosened up enough to jump back on the trails. 10 miles in 1:55:14. 11:31 average pace with 630 ft. of elevation.
Preseason mentor meeting with the most fantastic people around! I’m not kidding a bit when I say the these people are part of my family and my #fleetfeetfam mean the world to me. 💙 I’m so lucky to have them and that they allow me the pleasure of being their coach. “Haley, Haley, Haley!!” I’ll never forget mile 23 of Grandma’s Marathon. When time goals were left in porta potties and tired legs along the way I said, haley we need a new goal, you do this because you love it, you do this because you love it. Then I decided let’s make these last 5 miles as fun as possible, and maybe just maybe someone would see me and think “hey I want to run a marathon.” At mile 23 there was this huge group of college guys out cheering and their friend was a little bit in front of me. They started chanting his name and ran out on the course and high fived him and I thought I want that. So I walked up to them: “I want in on this, I’m Haley...Haley, Haley.” And they started cheering for me!! My smile stayed on all the way to the finish.
Grandma’s Marathon was not the race I envisioned SO many times in my head, I didn’t have it on Saturday but it was a beautiful day and I have nothing but lovely things to say about this race and this town. I went for it, came up short and left with a full heart. The greatest joys in life are the things you have to work the hardest for. So many people inspire me to keep working hard. If @hbach22 can fall at the finish and be ready to work harder and keep after it... so can I. 😘 #mckirdytrained
Unfortunately didn’t run over the weekend, so did a slightly slower and shorter run tonight. The humidity is also ridiculous today so that didn’t help. I didn’t binge today!!! And for dinner I made yummy 🍤 tacos and a coconut milk yogurt to satisfy my sweet tooth. (I don’t do meal plans, prep, calorie count or anything it’s too complicated and discouraging for me personally. I’m working on smaller portions and healthier choices!) What kind of exercise did you get today?

#mondaymotivation Wenn du nach nem Longrun einfach nur glücklich bist, hast du alles richtig gemacht 🤩🙏🏼 17km gab’s für mich gestern und es war einfach genial. Das war nun seit dem Berlin Halbmarathon im April mal wieder ne längere Strecke und es hat mega viel Spaß gemacht.
Obwohl es früh schon richtig warm war, hatte ich eine schöne schattige Strecke - das war perfekt. Begleitet von Podcast, Vogelgezwitscher und Bach-Rauschen sind knapp 2h auch total schnell verflogen ☀️🏃🏽♀️👟🌲🌳 Als es dann noch ne Abkühlung im Bach gab, sprudelten die Glückshormone nur noch aus mir heraus 😍 #laufenmachtglücklich Marathon-Training week 2/16 CHECK ✔️ #runningmotivation#summerrunning#runninginspiration#marathontraining
