Исследований связанных с тяжелыми санями не так много.
Исследование «Lower-Limb and Trunk Muscle Activation With Back Squats and Weighted Sled Apparatus» опубликованное в журнале «Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research» 14.12.2014 года, одно из них.
В нем сравниваются активация мышц нижней части тела, в таких движениях как приседания и толкание тяжелых саней. В исследовании приминали участие 10 взрослых мужчин имеющих опыт занятий с отягощениями более 2х лет.
Эксперимент проходил в два этапа:
1️⃣Для двух движений определялись максимумы. 10 ПМ для приседаний, с временем эксцентрической и концентрической фаз примерно 1 сек. И максимальный вес для 20 шагов (10 движений для каждой ноги) с временем шага примерно 1 сек.
2️⃣ К мышцам подсоединялись электроды ЭМГ и после разминочных сессий проводились контрольные повторения с максимальными весами. Электромиография проводилась по следующим мышцам:
➡️прямая мышца бедра
➡️ бицепс бедра
➡️икроножная
➡️мышца, выпрямляющая позвоночник
➡️поперечная мышца живота
После получения данных, сравнения и статистического анализа, получились следующие результаты:
✅для прямой мышцы бедра, бицепса бедра, поперечной мышцы живота не было существенной разницы в упражнениях.
✅ упражнения на санях вызвали значительно более высокую активность ЭМГ икроножной мышцы
✅приседания вызвали более высокую активность ЭМГ мышц, выпрямляющих позвоночник.
Тренерские выводы:
❗оба упражнения в одинокой степени можно использовать для развития силы нижних конечностей, с учетом того что:
а) в толкнии саней отсутствует эксцентрическая фаза
б) наклон корпуса при толкании саней более специфичен для некоторых спортивных движений
❗с учетом меньшей нагрузки на мышцы спины во время толкания саней, ими  можно заменить приседания для спортсменов имеющих проблемы с нижней частью спины.
❗ толкание саней можно дополнительно использовать для лучшей проработки икроножных мышц.

Mobility is a key component to a well rounded program - making sure that we address any postural issues and make it easier for the body to get into the positions required during sport. 
This simple thoracic mobility drill is a great exercise that can be used to open up through the upper/middle back as well as the hips. 
Starting on all fours in a kneeling position, sink back into your hips, then one hand behind your head, drop elbow to opposite hand, then open up towards the sky,  breathe out as opening up to the sky. Aim for 4 reps each side.

Great addition to your warm up!

Feeling super proud of myself this morning 😃 I’ve struggled with a bad migraine the last couple of days,  but I rested well and I woke up this morning feeling much better and really strong 💪🏻 Hit an 80kg squat today and it felt easy!! But do you need to completely stop exercising when you are perioding? 🤨

Unless you are in crazy, bend-over-double kind of pain, MOVEMENT IS GOOD for you during your cycle. In fact, movement as a lifestyle has been proven to alleviate period cramps. So don’t cancel your PT sessions! .
Focus on what you CAN do (it). Including 👇🏾
✅ Lower load, higher resistance training. Around the  15-20 rep range is a good guide
✅ Go for a walk on the treadmill or go on the recumbent stationary bike.
✅ Work on your balance and glute isolation with single leg hip hinges.
✅ Self Myofascial Release to hydrate those fascia. Which will help in cramps! Tight areas include the upper traps, chest and inner thighs. .
Trust me, you will feel better after a session of movement.

Medicine balls. 
Everyone is familiar with them and loves to incorporate them in some type of way. Whether you slam them, throw them off a wall or in the air, or do some circus trick with them, medicine balls are fairly universally accepted in some manner. Maybe it’s time more people started testing with them as well. They are already a staple in most training programs, so using them to test and assess seems like a natural progression.
We can gain a lot of information using medicine ball tests. We can see how an athlete responds to a testing environment, how they move in more complex coordinated patterns than simply jumping or squatting, and how they respond to training, all with a fairly safe and practical method. The load is light (ballistic) and the information we gather reinforces our training or helps to make the necessary changes.
Testing isn’t just about measuring. It is a means to accountability, not only for the coach in making sure what they do is actually effective, but also for the athlete. Without numbers, how do we know athlete efforts are as they appear? How do we know that their Wednesday afternoon effort is on par with their ability or peak values?
Testing can give valuable insight into program data or simply incentivize, encourage, and motivate your athletes to “give their best,” so to speak. At Exceed, we’ve tested jumping and sprinting for a long time now, and when our college and professional athletes return after the season they know there will be testing. Now, thanks to the Ballistic Ball, we can add medicine balls to the mix.
The main reason for adding the med ball tests is the simplicity and safety involved, but here are other quick reasons that you’ll love them too.

So, I finally figured out why I wasn’t squatting to depth last week... it was because I watched the @westsidefilm the night before. 🙊 In all seriousness, I just needed to take some weight off the bar and focus on hitting depth – so I headed to @sydneystrengthtraining, recorded my sets from the most honest angle and let @joe_barbellmedicine play head referee. 👨🏻‍⚖️

I kept the weight at 117.5kg for my top single, but dropped it down to 110kg for 4 reps (that’s 2.5kg less than last week) – they were deeper and they moved better. Sometimes, progress doesn’t necessarily mean more weight on the bar. 📈

The importance of iron is becoming increasingly clear. A well-balanced diet should provide enough iron, but iron deficiencies are still pretty common [1]. Next to overall well-being, iron deficiencies may also harm training performance since it decreases oxygen delivery to muscle [2]. (Impaired oxygen delivery to muscle = fatigue more quickly)

When you're not getting ample amounts of a certain vitamin or mineral, supplementation is an option. But as the first step, I prefer looking into ways you can alter your existing diet to get more iron.

Meats are well-known sources of iron. There are also plenty of plant-based sources of iron. It's worth mentioning here though that plant-based iron sources contain non-heme iron, which has a lower absorption rate [3]. Luckily, there's a simple way to improve the absorption rate of non-heme iron.

Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron [4], so you can improve the nutritional quality of your daily "veggie snack" by combining foods like lentil soup (iron source) with a kiwi (vitamin C source) or as showcased in the first picture, a kale salad with some orange slices [5].

Cross the leg over the knee like I have, then try not to move anything else, and use the glute to lift the knee as high off the floor as possible. This largely eliminates the hamstrings from the picture. And it’s much harder than it looks. If you’ve got under-active glutes, this will definitely expose that. _
