Lilian Zielstra has been visiting elderly people and care homes all over the province of Groningen to have conversations and create poetry.
The Poetry with Grandma project created the most beautiful poems for and about elderly people in Groningen. On #TheNightofArtandScience 6 poets recite the poems and tell about their experiences.
Renée Luth, Myron Hamming, Irene Wiersma, Rik Andreae and Lilian Zielstra will be performing at the Forum Library - head to our website via the link in our bio for more info and to get your tickets!

is one of Dazed '100 names defining now' - this is because they are an incredible and influential poet, performer, actor and speaker and we are lucky enough to have them coming to perform and speak as part of the Night of Art and Science!
They will be headlining the most beautiful room in Minerva (the Koepelzaal) which will be filled with art made by local queer and trans artists - this is not to be missed!
❤️ What does it mean to be inclusive of all genders? ❤️
1. Pronouns - the little words we use to refer to each other - usually, they are gendered - like he/him, she/her in English and hij/hem, zij/haar in Dutch, but it is possible to refer to someone with gender-neutral pronouns. In English - they/them, in Dutch a little more difficult - die/hen/hun.
Many people prefer that you use gender-neutral pronouns like this when talking about them and when this is the case it is important to respect their wishes - it's a bit tricky to get a hang of at first - to practice try having a 'they day' when you only use they/them pronouns for everyone!
The slogan for the Night of Art and Science is #bebrave - what do we mean by that?
Well we don't mean that creating an inclusive event requires bravery, and we want to create an environment that is safe and comfortable and welcoming, so that bravery isn't needed to be in that space.
We are instead asking for people to have the bravery to talk about the theme
Inclusiveness is a topic that people often shy away from because they are scared to say the wrong thing, to hear someone else's experience and to recognise their part in it - but be brave in having these conversations, during the Night of Art and Science and in your daily life!
