Happy Saturday! This is the first time I haven’t worked in a double on a Saturday in awhile so it feels weird. My boyfriend and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend so we have a lot of fun stuff planned 🙂 for breakfast today I made pita bread topped with @fourthandheart vanilla ghee, crunchy peanut butter, banana 🍌, blueberries, and cinnamon. ✨When we go grocery shopping, Why do we feel tempted to go with the more expensive brands packaging, why do we want to pick the best looking vegetables and fruits? Why do we match our shoes to our clothes or, put on makeup and comb our hair? Why does nature have a healing effect? ...Why do those “Instagram” pictures have to look Perfect + Pretty all the time (You see those “Instagram” vs “Reality” posts?!).
By far the most important organs of sense are our eyes and we perceive up to 80% of all impressions by means of our sight. We are usually attracted by the beauty. If we put effort to look good in order to feel good, why wouldn’t we put an extra effort on our food? 💁🏻♀️Especially if your priority is nutrition!🍏
👱♀️👉YOU DESERVE to look good, to have matching shoes with your pretty dress👗 ..But, don’t you forget, you also deserve to have nutritious and well presented plates to nourish your body and soul!☯️
A study by👨🏻🔬 gastrophysicist Professor Charles Spencer at the Oxford University has proved that making something look good makes it effectively taste better too. If you have binge eating disorder, you might want to start working on the presentation of your foods. If your eyes are satisfied enough, your stomach may be too! Keto police, look away! This is my newest grocery haul from @target! I’m hoping to do some meal prepping for this week and focus on more budget-friendly keto finds instead of expensive keto snacks. Frozen veggies are actually cheaper for the most part than fresh when I live, which is good for me because I don’t have to worry about my produce going bad. I got all of this for less than $75 and it’ll last us for a decent while for lunches and dinners.

Happy Saturday!😄 I'm so glad we made it to the weekend, this week was a rough one! I was having some major POTS problems last Sunday so I stayed home from work on Monday. I wish I'd done the same the rest of the week because man, was I mess😒 The weather here has been so up and down that it's been majorly messing with my POTS symptoms, I just got my period so I've been PMSing/enjoying that endo pain🤦♀️ and my anxiety hit me HARD. So needless to say I'm just glad it's a Saturday and I don't have to work!🕺 This week has got me thinking a lot about where I am in my health journey. When I have weeks like this it's so easy to be down on myself and think about what I'm not doing right and what I should or shouldn't be doing. But the reality is I've come so far. A few months ago my period would have knocked me to the ground (literally) thanks to my endometriosis (Shoutout to my arvigo massage that definitely helped lessen my endo pain!). This month I've only had 2 pimples and they were small and only popped up the day my period started. A few months ago any little thing could set my skin off, let alone my period or ovulating! A few months ago I was bloating to the point I looked like I was in my 2nd trimester when I ate basically anything but now I don't after meals anymore! 😁
It's so easy to look at how much further we have to go that we forget to look at how far we've come! Healing isn't instantaneous (though I wish it was sometimes!). But honestly the journey to get well can teach us so much more than we ever imagined. And sometimes it's ok, to not be ok. It's not over yet. 💗
Pictured is one of my favorite quick and easy bfasts, grain-free "porridge". I just mix @evohemp and @truvani protein powders with coconut milk, add some cinnamon and whatever toppings I'm feeling! This week I enjoyed it with @onceagainnutbutter tahini (hello seed cycling!), @kitehillfoods almond milk yogurt and organic wild blueberries😋👌 Perfect for those mornings when you need something that requires basically no effort🙆♀️

Sooo simple and delicious. My secret is mashing half banana and mixing in with the oats and plant milk. I usually stove cook the oats, banana and milk until creamy. Add some cinnamon or cocoa powder for extra flavour. YUM 🥰 .

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE! 💜💖 I woke up this morning feeling tired 😴 and not wanting to get outta bed. Nothing a little matcha latte can’t fix 🙃 if you haven’t tried matcha before, I HIGHLY recommend! I don’t tolerate caffeine well at all (especially coffee- makes me super jittery and anxious) but my body handles matcha extremely well.
Here’s why —>
Matcha has L-theanine in it, which is a super powerful amino acid that stimulates the alpha waves in the brain, 🧠 which increases concentration and produces a relaxing effect. It literally calms the body without making you sleepy. Matcha is also rich in antioxidants- powerful compounds that fight free radicals and protect against disease. If you’re feeling “wired but tired” drinking coffee to get through the day, matcha is a great alternative that’ll give you sustained energy without the jitters. It’s also SO GOOD 🤤 and there’s so many different ways you can make it (iced, warm, w/ milk, w/out, etc.) hope everyone’s Thursday is off to a good start! 💗
🍌Baked banana blueberry oatzzzz🍌
Perfect for weekend mornings when you have a little extra time on your hands to make breakfast (tastes more like dessert tho) 😌 happy Fridayyy everyone!
1/2 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup almond milk
1 ripe mashed banana
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Preheat oven to 375F
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix together, adding in frozen blueberries last
Pour mixture into an oven-safe bowl and bake in oven for 25-30mins
Let sit for 5 minutes then top with strawberries and serve 🍓
