Ingredientes:
1 berinjela grande;
1/2 xícara de molho de tomate, de preferência caseiro;
1 xícara de queijo mussarella light ou outro de sua escolha;
tomate;
orégano;
manjericão a gosto;
Azeite para untar; .
Modo de preparo

Corte as berinjelas em rodelas, deixe-as de molho na água por pelo menos 10 minutos para evitar o amargor. Depois coloque-as em uma assadeira untada (com azeite), adicione o molho de tomate por cima. Acrescente o queijo de sua escolha, o tomate cortado, orégano e leve ao forno até o queijo derreter e começar a dourar. O meu levou 15 minutos. Depois retire, acrescente o manjericão. Deixe para acrescentar o manjericão após retirar do forno senão escurece com o calor. Pronto!

It’s like the most basic change that needs to be made.

A mindset shift around food.
-
There’s no diet food.
-
There’s no weight loss food.
-
If you eat chicken and vegetables and protein shakes to lose weight, and then go back to eating out all the time, heavy meals and whatever you’ve got in those cardboard boxes in the kitchen to snack whenever.
-
You’ve got the answer the weight doesn’t stay off.
-
Or why it doesn’t come off in the first place.
-
I did this for YEARS.
-
I was super strict for months and then I’d be back to no structure, snacking, eating whenever food was offered to me, and too much restaurant grip and alcohol.
-
It was all in, or all out.
-
This stuff isn’t complicated. There’s no “fat loss workouts” and there’s no “fat loss foods” or meals.
-
You’ve got the food you’re supposed to be eating for health and energy.
-
And then more or less of it.
-
That could mean all kinds of things; like a bigger potato and more butter.
-
It could mean a salad with feta and olive oil to go with the meal when you’re just holding your weight where it needs to be.
-
It could be adding nuts or avocado to that extra salad when adding muscle.
-
It could be no salad—or just salad with less extras when in weight loss. On top of that other meal.
-
The foods? They can stay the same.
-
Lean proteins, vegetables, fruits, beans/legumes/lentils, stuff like that.
-
Be easy on the nuts, butters, oils and fatty stuff. There’s nothing wrong with it, but the calories add up quicker in fats at 9 calories per gram compared to 4 calories for carbs and proteins.
-
But this is the habit. Whether cooked yourself, prepped ahead, or even grabbed on-the-go. This has to become more normal.

Since I’m on the go so much it’s usually:
-
Shake blended with berries, bananas and 2 scoops of protein.
-
Bowl or salad on the go. Usually at @freshii.
-
Meat/fish/vegetable/etc at home at night.
-
I’ll slip protein bars, fruits, and eggs in there too when it makes sense too.
-
And this shouldn’t change when the weight is off.

On weekdays I eat grilled chicken with protein shake, and on weekends I eat fried chicken with beer.
Patience always makes the compensation more valuable.
I want to be careful about posting 'transformation photos' because I don't want to feed into the idea that one is better than the other, because there is nothing wrong with my body in the first picture, in fact I was happy with how I looked in the first photo which was taken this time last year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I do want to show is that slow sustainable changes make a substantial difference over a period of time. We are constantly being fed the ideas that 'skinny teas' and tablets, or one magic drink can help us lose weight. This is false, a lot of hard work goes into building muscle and losing fat and it is not an overnight or weekly occurrence, its years of hard work and consistency. On the other side of that, it's health, it's looking after your body and fueling it with good nutritious food that makes you feel good on the inside and out. It's about having balance, not restricting yourself but actually enjoying food and exercise without letting it rule your life. The changes I made in between these photos were small and incremental, along with overall consistency, your overall health should come first, quick fixes are a waste of time and take too much toll on your mental health, and small positive changes can make a huge difference overall, you just have to accept that it won't happen overnight. ✌🏼

Small changes ADD UP. Eating shitty on the weekends turned into saying “F it” pretty much every day and over eating until I was painfully full. Not only did I feel uncomfortable in my skin on the left but my health was taking a toll.
.
So, what did I do to make this 12 lb change? Nothing even close to crazy. I started to give a shit about myself and my health. I stopped over eating every single night and started tracking my food intake again. I kept workouts exactly the same and added in a couple low intensity cardio sessions per week. THAT’S IT.
.
No yummy tea, no skinny wraps, no magic pills, no bullshit. Just hard freakin work
There is a different kind of fast food when you’re too tired, busy, or have no groceries. We just have to actually choose it over McDonald’s. Tonight I asked my husband to pick up a roasted chicken and prewashed salad on his way home from work. We are low on groceries and he has a meeting all evening so I don’t feel like cooking and cleaning up tonight. Btw I had some ranch dressing on my salad. _______________________________________________

What kind of diet am I supposed to eat? Isn’t that the magic question? I hope you all know my opinion by now that Light and Environment play an overall bigger factor into our health and well-being but that doesn’t mean that diet isn’t important. Light and environment makes your engines (mitochondria) more powerful to produce more energy but you want to feed those engines with high octane fuel. The Modern Caveman philosophy is to eat what is natural to your environment and to the season. As a Hunter/Gatherer in Arizona, not a lot of vegetation grows in the winter other than some frost resistant vegetables. Therefore, my diet turns Keto in the winter because naturally one would have to hunt for most of his/her food.

7 WEEKS - Coming back from my trip to Portland, then immediately getting the flu and being sick for the better part of almost a week has set me back but doesn’t mean my progress is not there. Life has a way of testing you, on how far you want to go, and how fucking bad you want to make things happen. One thing that has worked wonders for me has been intermittent fasting, through my good days, and my bad days, I still don’t break it. It’s incredible the changes that your body sees when you adapt to a style of processing your meals. Just because you don’t do good one day, doesn’t mean you just lost weeks of works, we don’t gain 30lbs overnight, just as we don’t lose 30lbs overnight. Whoever that is struggling out there, keep your head up, all those thoughts of wanting to be good, convey them from your mind, into daily reminders with notes, quotes, or anything that keeps your fire going on this journey. Everything is not on the scale, I promise you that.
