The soleus is considered the BIGGEST of the 3 calf muscles (Fukunaga et al 1992) followed by the lateral head of gastrocnemius & finally the medial head of gastrocnemius being the smallest (Bamman et al 2000, Morse et al 2005)

Muscle fibres: Both the gastrocnemius & soleus display predominantly type I muscle fibres (44 – 76% &. 70 – 96% respectively) (Dahmane et al 2005, 2006, Keh-Evans et al 2010, Johnson et al 1973, Edgerton et al 1975, Coggan et al 1992) suggesting that training with lighter loads & slower speeds be best for hypertrophy. Volume & frequency: In order to maximise calf hypertrophy, a frequency of 2-3x per week consisting of ~70 reps per session utilising PERFECT technique, potentially split into heavier/lighter days i.e. Daily undulating periodisation seems best (Schoenfeld et al 2016, Wernbom et al 2007)

Practical implications: Train your calves with the SAME amount of effort/consistency as any other muscle ideally implementing a minimum of 1 standing & 1 seated exercise, performed 2-3x per week with mostly light weight & higher reps however with a potential 1 of your 2-3 days being a heavier day oriented around higher weight & lower reps
In other words, by eating the yellow and red pigments in fruits and vegetables, like beta-carotene in sweet potatoes and lycopene in tomatoes, men and women may be able to naturally acquire more of a golden and rosy glow 🤩 I hope you take this as another motivation to eat your fruits and vegetables every day 🙏🏼🧡

Para fazer o oreo fake: 250 gramas de farinha de aveia+ 2 colheres de sopa de manteiga+ 5 colheres de sopa cheias de cacau em pó alcalino 100% cacau+2 ovos+ 3 colheres de sopa de açúcar demerara ou xilitol+ 1 colher de café de bicarbonato,misture tudo até ficar uma massa firme, unte uma forma e espalhe tudo até ficar bem lisinho, asse por 25 minutos (forno pré-aquecido à 180 graus) quando sair do forno triture a bolacha toda.⠀⠀

I am THIS CLOSE to 40 lbs down! I should have reached it this morning but I had ramen for dinner last night and it made me gain half a pound, tf lol. But I was SO HAPPY to see my side photo! This is 230 vs 190 ish at 5'3" (I really think this mirror has a skinnying effect or maybe it's the black clothes). About halfway to my goal!

Bodybuilding & Ernährung 2. Teil: Makronährstoffe 🤯
1. Proteine: Der wichtigste Makronährstoff im Bodybuilding/Kraftsport sind die Proteine. Sie bestehen aus bis zu 22 aneinadergereihten Aminosäuren. Grundsätzlich wird empfohlen 2g Eiweiß pro kg Körpergewicht zu sich zu nehmen (mein Eiweißbedarf liegt somit bei 106 g täglich). Die Proteine sollten immer der Hauptbestandteil der Mahlzeiten sein, da sie satt machen & essenziell für den Stoffwechsel sind (Enzyme, Proteinbiosynthese etc).
Proteine finden sich nicht nur in Fleisch & Fisch, sondern auch in Hülsenfrüchten, Tofu, Milchprodukten usw. Etwa 30% der täglichen Gesamtkalorien sollte eiweißhaltig sein.
2. Kohlenhydrate: Kohlenhydrate sind der Energielieferant schlechthin. Sie bestehen aus unzählig vielen aneinandergereihten Glucose Molekülen (Einfachzucker), aus denen wir unsere Energie beziehen. Glucose wird in den Leber-& Muskelzellen in Form von Glykogen (Mehrfachzucker) gespeichert. Bewegen wir uns eine längere Zeit, greift unser Körper zunächst auf die Glucose im Blut zu. Ist diese aufgebraucht, werden auf Dauer die Glykogenspeicher der Leber-& Muskelzellen entleert. Das Glykogen wird dann wieder in Glucose gespalten um es für uns als Einfachzucker verwendbar zu machen. So werden wir auch während dem Training mit Energie versorgt. Kohlenhydrate sollten bei keiner Mahlzeit fehlen & sind enorm wichtig, besonders bei sportlicher Aktivität! "Gesunde" Kohlenhydrate sind z.B Reis, Kartoffeln, Vollkornprodukte, Quinoa usw. Rund 50% der täglichen Gesamtkalorien sollte deshalb kohlenhydratreich sein.
3. Fette: Fette spielen eine große Rolle bei der Herstellung von Hormonen. Generell bestehen Fette aus 1 Triglycerid & 3 beliebigen Fettsäuren. Um also z.B das Hormon Testosteron zu synthetisieren, wird Fett zunächst in Cholesterol verstoffwechselt, welches später in Testosteron konvertiert wird. Testosteron ist das essenzielle Hormon für den Muskelaufbau, egal ob bei Männern oder bei Frauen! Wichtig ist, dass man (mehrfach) ungesättigte den gesättigten Fettsäuren vorzieht. Diese sind z.B in Olivenöl, Nüssen, Fisch, Avocados usw. enthalten.
20% der täglichen Gesamtkalorien sollte deshalb durch Fette gedeckt werden.
