Last year I went to hear the master photographer Paolo Roversi speaking about his work and life - and that was a true joy to both see and listen to, very inspirational! His portraits are really something special. When showing one of his images he made a comment about it not beeing sharp - which he then followed up with saying something like: "Who are to determine when the focus is correct? The focus is correct when the focus is beautiful." That was such a fantastic approach by Roversi!! A couple of months later, and with the words from Roversi fresh in mind, I made this photograph on the Russian countryside when a real tropical downpour started. I was sitting in the middle in the backseat of a car when I saw the beautiful rays of light hitting the raindrops on the side window of the car as we were driving, but making the lens sharply focused on the landscape or the raindrops on the window I knew would not give me a photograph of what I imagined. I therefore adjusted the focus of my lens until the focus was beautiful, and then this photograph came to life. #inspiredbypaoloroversi#russiancountryside#russianlandscape#photoart#artphotography#beautifulfocus#landscapephotography#downpour#rainshowers#russia #российскиепросторы #природа
Down Pour – IOI
Will it stop now?
These raindrops, these tears?
I don’t want to get wet with rain
And tremble with cold
Some day, the cold rain will become warm tears
And fall down
It’s just a passing downpour
