Injury Prevention for the Throwing Athlete 👇👇 (see link in bio) March 9, 9-12 pm
1) What exactly will you be going over with this clinic? Because we've attended camps where they take video, run radar, and tell us how to throw harder..is that what this will be?
2) NO. Because our approach with your athlete will be focused more on functional flaws that affect athleticism as a whole for your child, as opposed to technique flaws. .
For example, you can tell a child to whip his arm through faster to increase velocity for a throw down to 2nd base or tell him to follow through on her batting swing...BUT if he/she has really tight upper back muscles, or can't plant his/her front foot without his/her knee caving, he/she will overcompensate other ways and end up in injury. OR will never be able to push past these restrictions to improve in this sport. .
OUR goal is to personally assess function in each athlete, determine weaknesses/functional flaws in core, shoulder, hip and feet and how to best correct them through improved movement. Then we will walk each athlete through a warm-up/corrective exercise protocol that will help mobilize, stabilize, improve proprioception, and prep the athlete for improved function--->>> which equates to more athleticism, improved longevity in the sport, decreased injury prevention, and with consistent practice more power and speed for hitting and throwing, running, etc.
