One has to take steps without being able to see if there is support there. One must taste failure time and again and be inspired by it. One must be armed with a variety of rationalizations for continuing on despite doubt, buffeting, adverse opinion. Every successful new business gores someone’s ox, and those people react in nasty ways. The faces you see each day are now depending on you to make payroll. Pediatric oncologists must be mentally tough to deal with the suffering of others; entrepreneurs must be superhuman to deal with the tragedies they themselves can be the authors of. Trick is, you can’t teach that mental nexus if you have not lived it yourself. If you haven’t, then apprentice them to someone who has. -@jhingun

Woke up Monday feeling like crap. Throat sore, stuffy just blah. I had a client, (president of a multimillion dollar construction company) send me an email regarding a new transaction. Some kind of way I scraped myself up, went to the office and called the client to get details. He said, "man you sound awful", and then jokingly said, "I didnt know they let entrepreneurs get sick." Story time: Woke up brought Krista to work at 6am I went to the gym at about 630 am. Ran a little over a mile, got in my squats, and took on the steam room. Everything was kosher until about 9am. I was dropping off a vehicle to a local dealer and for “some reason” the truck decides to stop working- IN THE MIDDLE OF 28th STREET. Fast forward - pushed this f250 from the middle of the road to a parking lot. The whole time my mind was reminding me today is cardio not legs. Apparently everyday is leg day. Fast forward again- speaks with owner of mortgage company I left the vehicle at and dropped key at dealership. The second I get there this guy is laughing at me telling me how experiences like these “build character”. Fast forward again again- opens 4 stores on time and sits down for 2.5 seconds- Gets phone call- the truck ran out of gas. 🌳The 3 Seconds rule of PROCRASTINATION🌳
Yesterday was a really tough day for me, I had a lot going on and but mid through the morning seemingly everything was still on the table. As i wanted to start a different task, reading and analyzing new IFRS Rules (something I truly dislike, but as it’s important I‘ve to push through) I started recognizing a pattern - procrastination!
I wanted to start with the analysis, but first checked the mails, then talked to my secretary for new scheduling, then went back writing some mails - procrastination is a thing! Then I remembered something a once read, the 3 seconds rule.
If you want to do something or even have the thoughts of doing a specific task, you have 3 seconds to start with it, otherwise the procrastination kicks in.
So what i did, I sat back on my desk, opened my analysis tool, counted to three and then got going!
This is really helpful to me and I hope you will try the 3 seconds rule yourself!

If I had to say what is my biggest weakness it's procrastination.
Instead of saying I'm "too busy" or "don't enough time" or "it's too hard" I reframe it by saying, "...that goal is not a priority for me." An example, I used to say that I was just "too busy" to work out. But, what I really was saying to myself that taking care of my body and the longevity of my life just wasn't a priority for me. Reframing it like that really made me angry at myself because my health and living a long time is a MAJOR priority and I just needed to buck up, wake up an hour earlier and get it done.
Another thing most people procrastinate about is starting or growing their business. We all come up with excuses on why we can't do it but honestly, it just boils down this;
If you're procrastinating starting your business what you're saying is, "Building a dream life for my family is not a priority for me." I remember when I used to procrastinate doing the activities that grow my business and increase our wealth...but not anymore. A dream life is a MAJOR priority.
Procrastination is just a battle between your Present Self and your Future Self. The Future Self is the one that sets the goals but the Present Self is the only one that can take action.
Getting your Present Self to bust it boils down to creating emotional, inspirational goals that you will do anything to accomplish.
