Rearing was that trick I always wanted with my horses. I love the look of it. All the horses I have taught to rear have learned it in different ways. Koa learned it out of cutting moves. We had her dodge side to side and she eventually lifted up. Koa doesn’t have very strong hind legs. She has a big belly on kind of short, skinny legs. She’s not very athletic but she’s sooo smooth to ride. Plus you can’t beat her personality. She’s so loyal and gentle and kind, the type of horse everyone should learn on!
She wasn’t alway that way. Before we got her she had to be tranquilized to have her hooves trimmed. We used clicker training to get her to be good with her feet. She’s also had lots of natural horsemanship to help her find a quiet mental state. She’s a very happy herd leader. She brings peace to all the other horses around her and shares her food with the most needy. She’s an admirable citizen, the kind of horse we are glad to represent us.
Koa is a 16-year-old Kiger Mustang. I have had her since 2008. In this photo you see Quinlyn, my 7-year-old daughter, riding, me cuing the rear, and 1-year-old Revi on my back. 💫 Follow to see more photos of my lovely horse and human family. 💌 Message me if you need help with riding or training. 💘 Share if you love seeing happy horse families!

Working with the ball today. Pete is figuring out what I want him to do with the ball, but he is obviously not intrinsically motivated. •
Right now I am clicking him for following the ball, pushing it with his nose, or pawing it. •
One reason I really like getting out the ball for Pete is because it helps him know that it is ok to walk away from me. As of now, when we are training, he's very velcroed to my side. This exercise helps him to work on leaving me. •
While rewatching these videos, I noticed that my clicks seem to be a little late. Feel free to let me know if you guys notice that too. •
Tips/constructive criticism welcome! Also sorry about my voice and my sniffing😂 It's freaking freezing outside and the cold makes my nose run🙄
The boys getting it done with some breakers that finished on Friday 💪🏼
Who thinks we have another @magicmillions 2yo Classic winner in this years crop?
Awesome to have possibly 3 of ours run in the golden slipper this year as well! Hopefully 4 but fingers crossed

Successfully transitioning feedlot lambs - A pilot study with feedlot lambs administered Dynavyte MicroBiome Support at the inclusion rate of 10 litres per tonne of feed as fed produced no clinical acidosis and no ill-thrift was seen. This inclusion rate may be useful as the lambs that consume more grain are going to consume a larger volume of Dynavyte MicroBiome Support with the benefits of promoting good gut bacteria and inhibiting the bad microbes.
since it was too cold to do anything, after i worked on +R with ed I decided to play a game and of course he knew right where the treats were 😂 he’s such a smart horse not only while riding but when working on +R. he’s picked up so quickly and i’m still taking it really slow but he’s such a smart dude (and still as sassy as ever)
He is amazing 😍
I think it’s the 3rd ride on the baby horse and he such a fast learner. Once he decides to go forward he’s amazing and trotting round the round yard off lead 😆❣️
Excuse the questionable position that’s what a stock saddle with super short stirrups does 😂
Theo had some much needed turnout in our small indoor arena. He was so much more settled afterwards. He already loves Graham

My NEW edit from my ride last week! I want my Instagram to be somewhere where I can look back on my rides and also for you to enjoy it and I thought my old edit was rubbish and the sound made me cringe so here’s a much “better” one and is easier to follow and I’d say more “chilled” 👅
