Happy Six-elliptical Sunday! ☀️ .
I admit I’ve been spooked! Ever since I spoke to my mom over the phone about her recent knee injury (a meniscus tear due to over-use) I’ve been avoiding running for my own injury and working out on ellipticals instead. I’m freaked about making things worse by running, and I definitely don’t want surgery or have to do intensive physical therapy. Well ok, if it’s a decision between physical therapy or surgery, I will definitely choose physical therapy. My doctor also gave me a lot of sass when I told her I didn’t want to take synthetic anti-inflammatory meds, and instead wanted to get it naturally from food. She looked at me like I was crazy, but she didn’t look like the healthiest person either. My knee doesn’t hurt, but maybe inside it does? The only real problem I have is that it locks up after 30 minutes of running. And it seems to be worse in cold weather. 🤷🏻♀️
I think my knee has actually been improving these last few weeks despite all this, but that has yet to be proven when I get it xrayed this Thursday. Im also getting an MRI to my shoulder and elbow, an ultrasound to my neck, and mammogram. Doctor found two lumps on my upper body so I’m a little freaked out. Breast cancer runs in my family, but I can’t explain why there’s also one on my neck. Here’s hoping all is ok. 😬
With that aside, working out on Ellipticals is not quite the same as running, and I’ve been aching to get outdoors to run. I love fresh air and going places when I work out. Ellipticals also strain my hips more, so I’ve been trying to stretch and do yoga as much as I can. With all the intense work deadlines the office has been having, I’ve been taking doing short but intense workouts. Consider it small sips of air. But it always feels good afterwards. Here’s hoping for good luck next week! 🤞💪🙏 .

Dzisiaj małe bieganko, tak na koniec tygodnia o 22:00 z myślą, że zatrzymam ten weekend. Niestety, tak się nie stanie. Jutro poniedziałek i kolejny tydzień wyzwań, zapełniony szczelnie wszelakimi obowiązkami.
Dzisiaj także zapisałem się na #biegchomiczowki, który odbędzie się 20 stycznia 2019 na dystansie #15km. Super bieg, super atmosfera. Można, też pobiec na #5km w Pucharze Bielan. Naprawdę polecam💪💪🖒👊.

Желаем Алексею всех жизненных благ, чтобы травмы обходили его стороной и он смог добиться своей заветной цели: пробежать 50 стокилометровых дистанций! 39 за карьеру уже есть. 👍

Okay okay I’m good now, back to running talk. This last week wasn’t the best in terms of exercising as I was heavily focused at my day job and was drained to do anything else. But it was a good week for me to focus on perspective and what I need to work on. What I want to accomplish and what I need to do to get the job done. 2019 is going to be a very interesting year for me and I can’t wait! Till then, spend my time training, learning, and getting what I can done before the years out. Tonight was a great run to get myself back into things and am building towards a double digit run here shortly. But more on that when it actually happens. Hope you all are doing well and will talk to you all soon!
#surfcitymarathon coming up real soon! This training cycle has been way less than ideal with my foot issues, but just happy I’m able to get my long runs in. Where I would normally run 5-6 days/week during a marathon cycle, these days it’s been 3-4😖 but just taking what my body will give me at this point👍 always room for strengthening which I was starting to incorporate but lately I’m resting it when i’m not running because my foot pretty much hurts all the time these days like a bruise with twinges of sharp pain throughout the day. Anyway I hate complaining of pain, but this one is an annoying one that actually affects my mood at times because it’s always there😖...but on to very positive news, the girls asked us to take them running over the weekend. No prompting from hubby and me. They ran two miles. And they also want to do a triathlon in the summer 😊 happy to see that our love for endurance sports are rubbing off on the girls:)

Long run Monday 😁 each week I am adding 1KM to my long run so today's run was 11KM. .
I can feel my ability to run with my HR at 90%or below is really improving as I ran the same time doing 11KM this week as my 10KM last week 👍
Whatever your starting point... keep on improving and pushing yourself. Crazy to think this is the longest run I have ever done and that I did my first park run only 6 weeks ago 😁😁
