Checking in @hybridperformancemethod. Weight is still at 125lbs but body composition has changed a lot. Macros still at 150p/200c/60f, might seem low but remember I’m 5’0 and 125lbs. The energy demands of powerlifting aren’t that high, and I gage what I need based on the changes in body weight. It’s only “too little calories” if my weight or performance drops, which hasn’t been the case.

The biggest lesson I learned this year is that happiness, TRUE happiness, comes from within. My emotional, mental, and physical health are the most important. My goals and aspirations are the main priority. Anyone who threatens that inner peace and happiness has no place in my life. Period. No one else’s opinions, life choices, or words can ever have power over me unless I allow them to. Living your life for someone else is the quickest way to feel empty, unfulfilled, and invaluable. Putting your happiness in the hands of another person is one of the most dangerous things you could ever do. I am beyond grateful that this year I finally discovered my true happiness within myself. Although 2018 was a really tough year, I’m forever grateful for those lessons.

Guten Morgen Ihr Lieben!
Ihr habt hier von mir lange nichts mehr gehört, was auch sehr schade ist… Nur leider konnte ich es nicht einrichten. Ich war Privat sehr eingespannt. Mir wurden Tätigkeiten verboten (nicht von Nando! :-D) und vieles mehr. Seit 14 Tagen sind Nando und ich aber endlich ausgezogen. Ich hab jetzt endlich wieder mehr Zeit für mich. Ich möchte mich wieder viel mehr mit Ernährung befassen und Euch dran teilhaben lassen. Lange habe ich überlegt, wann ich die Seite weiterführen werde. Heute Nacht kam dann der Motivationsschub, den ich lange gesucht habe. Oft bekomme ich die Frage: Wie schaffst Du es so motiviert zu sein? - Da kann ich nur sagen, es gibt keine Tricks für Motivation, meiner Meinung nach! Für mich hat es was mit der Psyche zutun, wenn Du bereit bist, dein Leben zu verändern, indem Du dich gesünder ernähren möchtest, fitter werden willst und besser aussehen möchtest, musst Du es mit deinem Inneren vereinbaren. Es gibt viele Faktoren wie: Stress, Depressionen, Traurigkeit, uvm.! Ich zum Beispiel war seit dem Sommer sehr traurig, gestresst und ich würde sogar fast sagen: depressiv. In einer ärztlichen Behandlung war ich allerdings nicht, auch habe ich keine Medikamente genommen. Allerdings habe ich zwei Sachen zu mir genommen, die mich echt wieder hochbekommen haben: MSM (Schwefel) und Vitamin B-Komplex Tabletten. Ich hoffe, ich als Person, schaffe es Euch zu motivieren! Weil ich selber kann mich nicht von anderen motivieren lassen. Meine Challenge an mich selbst ist es, bis zum 15.01 (30 Tage) min. 3-4 KG abzunehmen. Ja! Ihr habt richtig verstanden: 3-4KG! Da ich genau diese Zahl wieder mehr auf der Waage habe. Durch die schlimme Zeit, hatte ich das Bedürfnis mich schon fast gehen zu lassen. Fast Food, Süßigkeiten (obwohl ich sie eigentlich hasse) und sehr viel Alkohol haben mich die letzten 4 Monate begleitet. Der Gedanke macht mich jetzt fertig. Richtig widerlich…. Deswegen MUSS und WILL ich es ändern und zwar SOFORT! Ich hoffe Ihr macht nun alle wieder mit und wir können uns gegenseitig motivieren. Seid ihr dabei 🥰?

A great exercise to target the inner and upper chest.

Exercise Setup: 
Get a barbell and attach it to a landline attachment in your gym. Alternative; take a barbell and place it in a 90 degree angle corner; take a sandbag, place it on the ground against a wall, place the barbell I top of the sandbag

Place a mat on the ground to protect your knees 😅, if desired 
Attach a v-bar attachment to the end of the barbell. Make sure the v-bar attachment is facing up.

Exercise execution:

1️⃣:Starting point :Grab the v-bar, that is attached to the barbell and bring the bar Up to mid chest height. 
2️⃣:Press the barbell up, without locking out elbows,while keeping your elbows tucked in while throughout the exercise. 
3️⃣: Lower the barbell back to the starting position and continue until you have reached your desired rep count. ⭐️Keep your core tight, and keep in upright posture. ( flex abdominals and squeeze the glutes 🍑)⭐️ For those looking to gain size stay between the 6-12 rep count. 💪🏾 For those looking to lean/tone keep the reps higher than 15. 💪🏾 For personalized training programs feel free to DM.

It’s important to mix up your grip, reps, sets, and weight loads when working your biceps for functional gains. EZ bar curl is easier on the wrists than a straight bar -wrists are in a more natural position and avoids any discomfort. Plus the squeeze and contraction in the bicep is better💪

Ten years ago I used Facebook primarily as a place to complain about winter in New Hampshire. Then my husband and I moved to Arizona and I used Facebook primarily to gloat about not having to scrape off my car or shovel.

And the something changed: we moved back to New Hampshire and I  started running OUTSIDE in the SNOW. Turns out I missed the seasons and winter felt like HOME and I did everything I could to be out in it. .

It’s Friday and thank god for that!! 😂 last night I had honor working out with @s2_cheese. He put me through a very intense workout with shoulders, biceps , triceps. Let’s just say my arms were solid as rocks. Haha!! I enjoyed every second of it. And I learned a lot as well. Thank you Tyler!! There’s some sort of obsession on the gram on “how-to-get-abs” and while well-defined ABS are achievable through dedication and proper nutrition, I want to also remind you that genetics play a huge role.

If your aim is just to look “ripped” like that fitness model you saw on the gram, I want you to stop for a sec and re-evaluate your goals. Have you ever thought that perhaps that’s also the result of perfect lighting, and MAYBE even some good photo editing?

My point is: ABS ARE NOT VISIBLE ALL DAY LONG, 365 DAYS A YEAR 🤙🏼🤗 and you should workout because you actually enjoy it and not because you want to look like someone else.
.
I have pretty defined abdominal muscles BUT I also have days in which I am bloated and i’m like “hey 🐢 where are youuuu?” 😂 but that’s perfectly fine because perfection does not exist in real life!
.
Now, when it comes to me, my abs got visible as my body composition changed. > lean body mass ⇝ < body fat = ABS.
.
How did I achieve this? With a proper mix of diet & exercise.
I love focusing on my core for 2 reasons: 1. I have FUN 🤗; 2. with a desk job + years and years of studying, it helps me with my posture and lower back pain! .
In terms of diet, I eat intuitively but (almost!😋) all my meals are very healthy! I cook them myself 🤗, use wholesome ingredients and balance protein-carbs-fat ratio according to my days. I tend to eat more carbs when I workout because my body needs it, I can feel it. Protein are usually stable and I’m probably eating around 100-120 gr of net protein per day. Fats? I always have nut butters in the morning and then use olive oil throughout the day.

As usual: BE ACTIVE. EAT HEALTHY. Don’t overthink it! Don’t do it because you want to look like someone else, this society is a bit messed up! Do it for YOURSELF! #YouDoYou 💛

As someone who has never been injured in the gym, I think I have some value to offer here. Almost nobody warms up correctly. Everybody walks in the gym goes through a warm up routine before hitting the weights. This is wrong.
•
Walking on the treadmill, dynamic stretching (or stretching of any kind for that matter) is bad for your performance with weights. Even taking too long to warm up will tire you out. After 15 minutes on the treadmill I see people walk in the weight section and are already half beat up doing their first set.

Tell me, if you're supposed to train chest that day how will a treadmill walk help you get the blood in your chest and other push muscles? It doesn't. That's how people get injured, because they are walking in the gym already tired!
•
You should be warming up in the ACTUAL MOVEMENT. If your first exercise is bench press, warm up WITH BENCH PRESS. Start off with an empty bar and do some reps because you are warming up the movement. Nothing is better than warming up with the movement itself because nothing else will get the blood flowing to the right areas. •
As you increase the weight up to whatever you will do your first set with, do no more than 3 sets. And on each set, just feel the weight, and get out. Save your energy. You shouldn't be struggling on a single rep in your warm up sets. You only want to get the hang of it.

Tag someone you know who warms up too long on the treadmill before hitting the weights.
