The best part about having a home gym? 👉Being able to do cardio wearing nothing but undies and a fluoro orange bandanna WITHOUT getting asked to leave for being a sexual predator. It’s a nice change :’) .
💪PHYSIQUE UPDATE: Currently hovering around 79kg with weight slowly coming down...Starting to tighten up, but lower abdominal fat still being as stubborn as a mule with a learning disability.

One thing I’m really doubling down and focusing on now is progressive overload - I’ve got a new workout log book and I’m writing everything down in there. If you’ve never tried one I highly recommend! A lot of the time if I’m not logging my lifts I end up stagnating because in my head I’m like ‘oh I don’t think I can go heavier than this’ and I end up doing the same warm up weight and maxing at the same too working set each time. No progression. Writing it down lets me see that actually I just got 3 sets at that weight I thought was my top weight for 3-5, so next week I’m going heavier! ⁣

Obvs remember to keep your form in check and stop the set when your form fails, not when your muscles fail (ie DON’T go to failure 🙄)⁣

■ハーフSQ
当シリーズ投稿【54〜77】では、<上体Ⅰ>として、上体前面を強化するエクササイズを中心に紹介してきました。
基本エクササイズは、ひと通り紹介を終えたため、本日より<脚Ⅰ>として、基礎強化段階で採用するスクワット(SQ)を順次紹介していきます。
・
まず初回は、ハーフSQです。
スポーツ選手が、SQで脚を強化することについては、ほとんどの競技において異論は見られず、またその効果や成果について、広く認められているかと思います。
では、何から始めていくのが良いのか。あるいは、何を中心に進めていくのが良いのでしょうか。
この辺りは、指導者や実践者の考えによって、多少の違いが表れる点です。
全可動域をカバーできるという観点から「フルSQ」が良いとする意見がある一方で、ハムストリングの強化に主眼を置き「パラレルSQ」を中心に進める方もいます。
どれが正解というのは、対象と狙いが違えば当然変わってきます。
その上で、ストレングス工房におけるスタンダードは、「ハーフSQ」としています。
つまり、脚トレーニングの導入にあたっては、ほとんどのケースで、どの競技選手も共通で、まずは「ハーフSQ」を中心に進めていきます。
ハーフSQを基準・起点にして、高い(浅い)ポジションで高重量を扱いながら背筋をつくる展開や、さらに深くしゃがみハムストリングの強化、または股関節の柔軟性養成や低い姿勢づくりを狙うアプローチ、さらにはスタンスを広くとる〜など、目的・狙いに応じて、多様性を持たせながら、強化を図っていくというのが工房の基本的な考え方です。
そして、SQと組み合わせて、以前に紹介したようなJump系のエクササイズ、あるいは今後紹介していく自体重負荷での補強エクササイズ、ストレッチなど、動きをつくり、柔軟性を高めていくようなアプローチを同時並行で進めていきます。

Suggested Foods for Exercise⠀
Eating before exercise is something only the athlete can determine based upon experience, but some general guidelines include eating a solid meal 4 hours before exercise, a snack or a high carbohydrate energy drink 2 to 3 hours before exercise, and fluid replacement 1 hour before exercise.⠀

•	fresh fruit such as apples, watermelon, peaches, grapes, or oranges and/or⠀
