Mindset goes a long way in determining your success when it comes to transitioning to a healthier lifestyle. What you think is important because there are times when the journey is really tough. Those moments when you get tired of weighing and measuring. One more sip of water from that gallon. It gets tough.
That's why you need to be clear about your goals. Goals help move you when you're missing those bad habits. Goals can give you that extra boost of energy towards going that one more step that one more rep.
I'm about to push myself again by starting a new nutrition program to really see how far I can go with a healthier lifestyle. The reason why is because I noticed when I really pay closer attention to my nutrition I actually have more energy, a better mood, and clearer skin. Those are all bonuses and the best part is it equals more happiness.
Get outside of your comfort zone and try something different. It may just be the thing that causes that new level of happiness.

**long post ahead** Today is the day.
My last shift in the place that I call home.
Making the decision to leaving my current workplace as a manager was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do; simply because I love my job and I love the crew that I work with. I have regular customers that know my voice through the drive thru headset & I know their order by looking out for their car.
This job has taught me so much about strength, knowledge & power, but it has also taught me so much about kindness, forgiveness, and even a little about love.
The people that I work with on a day to day basis are absolutely incredible. But when I made the commitment to step up and focus on my health, that included my mental and emotional health as well. All the way or none of it at all.
The job I am currently in is extremely stressful, results based and often more things can go wrong than imagined. For the first 8 months of working this new management position I found that I couldn’t ‘switch off’. No matter where I was I was thinking about work, what still had to be done and how on earth I was going to find time to do it. My shifts were irregular and more often than not I was sacrificing sleep to get there earlier to be able to achieve more. I was sacrificing additional exercise to be able to eat & sleep before my next shift (sometimes only 6.5hrs after finishing the previous one). My body doesn’t handle stress well and as a previous glandular fever survivor #warrior it breaks down a lot easier than others.
So chuck no sleeping pattern, 5-6hrs of sleep between 10hr shifts, no eating schedule, no additional exercise and an abundance of stress onto a frail, glandular fever body, what do you have?
Sickness. All the time. I was becoming ill every 2-3weeks because I was so run down and unfortunately my bosses didn’t understand the connection.
But today, is the day. My last shift with my favourite people. I’m emotional as hell but very excited to move towns for the first time with my partner & I’m even more excited to learn some more under new people.
This is my first step forward to a healthier me, and if this doesn’t count as a commitment then wtf does 😂
